I’ve always been passionate about cooking, but since I became a housedad in July 2010, this passion has reached new heights. I cook every day, often twice a day. Sometimes I will marinate meat for later in the week; other times, knock together a quick stir-fry, pasta dish or homemade pizza for the kids.

There are 5 reasons why I cook:
1) It is very therapeutic
2) It stretches the creative part of my brain that I used to use when I worked
3) It is incredibly satisfying feeding your family, knowing what’s nurturing their bodies
4) It gives me a great excuse to ignore said family when they are bickering and arguing
5) If I get it right I get loads of praise and brownie points!

I come up with my own recipes every week, but sometimes I use other people’s (and always give credit) and I wanted a place where they would be stored, where I could re-visit them time and again, from which I could dig them out, dust them off and share with other people.

I had a garden, that place would be a shed. As I don’t have a garden, this online shed will have to do: The Recipe Shed.

Please join in and share your own recipes via the Linky tool on the Recipe Shed post every Thursday and in time, we’ll have shedloads. Hahaha!
