Rare Beef Salad with African Chilli Coconut Relish

I bought this Bim’s Kitchen African Chilli Coconut Relish at a farmers’ market recently not really knowing what to expect, but it is delicious. It’s made with lots of coconut, lots of chillies, combined with lemon juice, tomato puree and several herbs and spices.

It works an accompaniments to meat but I mixed it with half a can of coconut milk to make a dressing for this rare beef salad. (The beef, incidentally, is Welsh wagyu silverside, sourced from Alternative Meats, and cooked in a Sous Vide water bath for two days. Yes, two days!)

  1. Oh this would be perfect for today’s London heat!
Really fancy a lovely salad, thinking traditional Chinese salad but far too hot to go to the shops…

  2. This looks wonderful!
Sous Vide is the way to go!

  3. Sounds great. I never realised that looking after my boys on the weekends would involve so much cooking and I am really struggling for recipes now that my few old classics have been used so many times.
