OK, it’s not food, but it’s just as tasty to the eye. This magnificent cherry blossom tree is in the garden at my sons’ primary school. It was rather windy last night – and the effect is spectacular.

Oh, how lovely! It takes me back to my childhood when we lived in a road that had cherry trees, of that size, down both sides of the road. They used to meet in an arch over the road. It was truly beautiful (until all the blossoms started to drop) and we had tourists from all over the world (even Japanese!) coming to look and take photographs. Wonder if they’re still there now 45 years later…
It’s a lovely time of year. Well, it would be, if the weather behaved itself!
We had some beautiful ones on our road too. Right outside our house until the council decided to chop them all down and tarmac over the grass edges.
Bad council, evil council!
