Like a lot of people, I’ve used the start of the New Year to have a long, hard look at my health habits.  I’m en route to 50 years old and with three kids under 11 to look after, I’m starting to feel the strain.
In my case, I eat well – too well! – but I barely exercise, except for running around after the kids, which is becoming increasingly harder. I noticed this at the weekend when the snow came. I took my two sons to the local park and found myself puffing and panting to walk back up the hill after each sled-ride.
So it’s time to make some changes. Nothing drastic – big goals just aren’t realisitic. Just a few tweaks that I can keep to. We all know that making small changes is far easier to maintain than setting yourself big goals which you will give up by the end of January.
To help get together a plan that is right for you and will be easily achievable, AXA PPP healthcare is hosting a series of online health clinics at the end of January. Whether you are planning to improve your diet (and that of your family), or looking to get a better fitness regime in place then medical experts are on hand to help and advise. Or maybe you have a health problem or question that you would like answering or more information on? Then  this is a really good place to start…

There are 4 live chats this month and the topics are as follows -

·         Cervical cancer on Thursday 24 January,  11 – 1 pm

·         Fitness and nutrition on Thursday 24 January,  1 – 3 pm

·         Heart health on Wednesday 30 January,  1 – 3 pm

Here’s my question: What simple changes can I make to my lifestyle to fit exercise in to my day-to-day routines without joining a gym?

  2. Claire

I find it difficult to keep motivated past a week or so in terms of exercising – do you have any tips on building exercise into my everyday life and activities?
