Ten years ago, van driver Dave Willis earned his living delivering crisps. But after months of munching on what he thought were sub-standard offerings, he decided to make his own – and to dedicate them to his cabin buddy Ruby, a terrier. As you do.
Thus starts the story of the Salty Dog brand of crisps – and now nuts.
Dave sent me some. And I’ve tried them. And they’re very nice.
But you don’t have to take my word for it – you can now buy some yourself as they’ve just gone on sale at Tesco. Salted peanuts, chilli peanuts, salted cashews, dry roasted peanuts, honey roasted peanut. Forget oysters: the world’s your peanut.
And if you head over to Salty Dog’s Facebook page you can enter a competition to win an iPhone. Grrrreat, eh?
Salty Dog: nuttier than this post. Follow the terrier on Twitter.
